An Introduction to VMGSim™

This VMGSim course is a hands-on course where attendees will spend a
significant amount of time running VMGSim. You are guided through the
creation of a series of typical simulation case examples in VMGSim covering
gas processing, gas treating with glycols and amines, oil characterization
and fractionation, petrochemicals, as well as sulfur recovery. The final
training problem set will be determined after course signup is complete.
Areas of focus during the course will include:
*         Use of the VMGSim user interface including working with the Visio
PFD
*         Selecting thermodynamic property packages, components, adding
hypotheticals, characterizing and blending oil assays
*         Understanding interactive flowsheeting, degrees of freedom,
bi-directional data propagation
*         Unit operations and flowsheeting, Handling material and energy
recycles
*         Modeling distillation columns including complex columns
*         Heat exchanger, Compressor and Vessel modeling
*         Modeling various gas plant configurations, including JT, Dewpoint
and Cryo plants
*         Modeling glycol dehydration and amine units
*         VMGSim's Excel and Process Calculator Operation
*         The Dynamic Assistant - Multi-unit depressuring/blowdown
*         Introduction to Dynamic simulation in VMGSim, focused on
pipelines/gathering networks
*         Application of Utilities including phase envelopes, saturator,
special properties, gas properties, etc.
Additional Topics:
*         Sensitivity analysis and case studies
*         Application of the Optimizer and Regression Tools
*         Using the Excel Spreadsheet and Process calculator operations in
simulation cases
*         Modeling with multiple flowsheets and multiple property methods
